You're sitting on your couch and your eyes keep going to that unsightly corner full of who-knows-what. You sigh, look to your left, look to your right and realize the orange and gold pillows you loved so much five years ago are just not doing it for you anymore. Then you start obsessing about that darn light fixture that does not match anything else in your space and was probably on sale and definitely puts out the most obnoxious amount of light: like, hardly any light at all. Your blood pressure starts to rise, you are sweating, breathing heavy. You think to yourself: something's gotta change around here!

I've got some answers. And you don't need to spend thousands of dollars to do it. There are interior design solutions out there that are changing the way we think about design. It isn't just for the wealthy, the handy, or the artsy. And there are simple, affordable things you can do today to change your space:
1. Organize that pile of stuff. Sure, it takes time, but it's FREE.
2. Switch out those pillows for something that reflects who you are TODAY, not who you were five or ten years ago.
3. Add design forward accents like candles, coasters, and plants.
4. Declutter. Again, FREE. This isn't the same thing as organizing. This entails getting rid of the stuff that no longer serves you. Haven't used it in the last year? Donate it. Broken? Toss it.
